The Velavadar National Park is the best national park in India, which is also known as Blackbuck National Park is situated in Velavadar, Bhavnagar District of Gujarat. It is established in the Bhal region of Saurashtra, in 1976. Total area of the national park is 34.08 sq km. The Velavadar National Park is situated 72kms from the Bhavnagar district. It has perfect grassland and ecosystem for spices such as the blackbuck, wolf and lesser florican. The main attractions of this national park are flat land, dry grasses and herds of antelope. The largest population of the lesser floricans has been sustained here.

The Velavadar National Park at Velavadar, also known as Blackbuck National Park, is situated in the Bhavnagar District of Gujarat state, India. Established in 1976 in the Bhal region of Saurashtra, it is spread over an area of 34.08 sq km (square kilometer).

It has a unique grassland ecosystem and has been running a number of successful conservation programmes for species such as the blackbuck, wolf and lesser florican. The park is open throughout the year. However, the period between monsoon and winter (mid-June to March) is the ideal time to visit the place. Birdwatching enthusiasts should visit the park between December and March, when many species of migratory birds arrive to spend the winter. These include three species of harriers, lesser floricans, eagles, waders and other water birds.

Velavadar National Park, also known as the Blackbuck National Park, was established in the year 1976 in the Bhal region of Saurashtra at Velavadar. This national park is situated about 72 kms from the Bhavnagar district of Gujarat. This national park covers an area of 36 square km and comprises of grasslands and scrubby plains. This park was primarily a "vidi" (grassland) of the Maharaja of the princely state of Bhavnagar. It is surrounded by wastelands and agriculture fields in the northern side. The National park has been classified as 4B Gujarat-Rajwada biotic province of semi-arid bio-geographical zone.
